Fitness and mindset – what’s the connection? How important is it? “Getting fit,” or “getting in shape,” or “getting healthier,” is way more about the mental than the physical.

Take this random zinnia, for example. Its conditions were far from ideal to sprout, much less thrive, coming from a chunk in the concrete. It wasn’t about the physical environment or conditions, it was about the seed and what was within it.

You can go through the motions of getting physically active and even getting in shape and getting healthier, yet without the mentality shift, it won’t LAST.

True, lasting lifestyle change comes from within. It’s more about how we think than just what we do that will make the difference long-term.

That’s why we are ‘holistic’ in our approach to private personal training.

So, what does developing a “fitness mindset” mean? Sometimes it involves rewriting over old “diet-culture” programming, sometimes it’s working to take good care of yourself vs beat your body into a shape you want it to be, and sometimes it’s about learning to start or restart from precisely where you are today, vs where you’ve been in the past. Those are just a few examples 🙂

Is there a mental block limiting you from sustainably elevating your health and fitness and truly being WELL? It’s possible that you might feel it, but maybe not know exactly what it is yet.

Let’s have a conversation about it! If you’re working with us, this is a great conversation to bring up with your coach. And if you’re not working with us currently, we invite you to submit for an Exploratory Session. Let’s explore!
