This October, we’re inviting you to join our Plank Challenge: one plank per day, following a simple schedule we’ll provide.
Why Planks?
Why planks? Because they’re one of the most effective (and accessible) exercises you can do. Planks don’t require any equipment, they can be done almost anywhere, and they deliver a wide range of benefits:
-
Core strength: Planks build a stronger, more stable core—which supports everything from posture to balance to daily movement.
-
Back and joint health: Strengthening your midsection can help relieve pressure on your spine and protect against injuries.
-
Full-body engagement: Done properly, planks work your shoulders, arms, glutes, and legs—not just your abs.
-
Simplicity and sustainability: No gym? No problem. A plank only takes a few seconds to a few minutes, making it easy to fit into your day.
But perhaps the greatest benefit is this: consistency. By committing to just one plank each day, you’ll build the muscle of daily discipline. Over time, that habit can carry into other areas of your health—nutrition, sleep, movement, and more.
The Power of Moving Meditation
Most of us don’t often slow down to simply be still. Holding a plank offers a unique opportunity: while your body is strong and engaged, your mind can also practice calm. Focus on your breath, notice the strength in your body, and use the stillness as a form of moving meditation. For those who struggle to sit still, this can be a surprisingly effective way to practice mindfulness and stress relief—one plank at a time.
Share Your Progress!
We’d love to cheer you on—so snap a photo, take a video, or share a quick story of your plank each day. Tag us on social media (@TheWellPersonalFitness) so we can celebrate your progress together and inspire others to join in!
