Breathing is essential to life. Proper breathing is essential to quality of life. The breath directly influences and is influenced by the nervous system. In this breath workshop, we will discuss the relationship between the nervous system and the breath, the anatomy of the muscles of respiration, as well as learning proper breathing techniques to help the body work towards optimal breathing patterns, posture, and a calm and healthy mind body connection.
Meditation is considered a type of mind-body complementary medicine. Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress.
About the Instructor: Blake has had a lifelong interest in meditation, martial arts, and mindfulness practices and began his training in these disciplines back in 2005. Since then, Blake has taught meditation classes, taken plant medicine journeys, and studied Buddhist, Hindu, and Zen philosophies among others. Anything to try and grasp a better understanding of who we are as human beings, what we are capable of, and how to best focus our personal willpower to achieve a sense of wholeness, peace, and strength as to live a more fulfilled life.
