Of course, we all want to look good in our swimsuit, but even more important is how that makes us feel.
To not have to think about what our body looks like in whatever clothing we’re putting on it is a gift like none other.
I began my fitness journey by wanting to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin, and what I found was that no amount of exercise I did would satisfy that insatiable beast. I had to change my mindset.
I began looking at the healthfulness of my body from exercising it well as well as treating it kindly to recover it from work. I began taking pride in what I could do with my body at my age and focusing how it felt to move throughout my daily life. I began valuing these things more than just what I looked like.
It’s one thing to have a gorgeous physique, but is it worth it if everything hurts all the time?
Not to mention, was the amount of effort I was putting forth in my exercise sustainable over the course of my lifetime? My answer was “no.”
It’s conversations like this that make our holistic training philosophy unique: that, in the end, it’s not just about the number on the scale or how you look, but also, or maybe even rather, how you feel: physically, mentally, emotionally.
